Carol Cooke and I jumped at the opportunity to do some laps around Albert Park Lake on Closed roads before the women’s and men’s elite races got under way on Thursday. Riding on that road with no cars, taking in the blue skies and the views of our beautiful city was a dream! I think it’s fair to say that we probably weren’t travelling quite as fast as the 55k/hr plus speeds the elites were clocking!

Also loved seeing loads of Mums and Dads out with their little people making the most of a beautiful day and flat roads with no cars!

After our laps we then got see the the amazing men and women show us how it’s done properly (and REALLY fast!) around Albert Park with Nettie Edmondson and Sam Bennett taking out their respective races.
