We’d love to shine a spotlight on one of our members, George Henderson.

The best part about our weekend club ride is that you get the opportunity to ride with new friends and members that you may not have ridden with before. On our Around The Bay (ATB) training ride, George Henderson casually mentioned that he had recently returned from overseas.

Our VP Guin had the opportunity on the ride down to Mordialloc to chat with George about his trip to Scotland and she was blown away with his achievements.
George is a bagpiper, and learnt to play as a child when his dad set him the challenge (if he wanted a motorbike he had to learn the bagpipes!).

George has recently returned from Scotland competing and winning the 2023 Pipe Band World Championships and the Scottish Championships whilst performing in 26 shows at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. George plays as an alumni with the school he went to, The Scots School Albury.

Well done George, not only a great cyclist but clearly a great bagpiper as well!
