SKCC is part of the Northern Combine which races most weekends.
The Northern Combine is the association of 10 Cycling Clubs in the northern suburbs of Melbourne: Brunswick, Coburg, Hawthorn, Italo-Australian, Macedon Ranges, Melton, Northcote, Preston, Sunbury and St Kilda Cycling Clubs. The association organizes the winter road racing season each year.
Champions of the calibre of Cadel Evans, David McKenzie, Will Walker & Matthew Lloyd have started their careers through the Northern Combine. This type of success is due in no small measure to the strong junior racing program that is an integral part of our overall racing program.
You don’t have to be Alejandro Valverde to race as Grades range from A to E depending on numbers. All you need is your license and your armwarmers and you’re good to go. The circuits are varied and suit both sprinters and climbers alike and racing is open to both Men and Women.
Entry is easy and is done via the Northern Combine website and entries usually open at the start of the week and pre-entry is a must. Entries close a couple of days prior to the race to give the volunteers plenty of time to get everything in place and ensure race registrations run smoothly.
Also for the first time there will be a Women’s Series. Details are being finalised and will be made available shortly.
You’ll always find plenty of smiling SKCC members at each race.
