Eildon Junior and Women’s Tour 2014

On the 12th and 13th of July, nine junior and nine senior women from SKCC descended on the town of Eildon for the 2014 Eildon Junior and Women’s Tour. On what turned out to be a cold and damp weekend our club riders were greeted by good sized fields with many of the best riders in the state in attendance.

Stage 1 on Saturday involved an ITT in the morning and Stage 2 a road race on the roads around the Eildon Pondage. Stage 3 on Sunday was another road race with the older age groups and senior women riding the Skyline Loop which took them over the 9km Skyline climb.

It was a tough and very competitive weekend of racing with a number of our riders achieving podiums. Congratulations to Neve and Isla Bradbury J13A who placed 2nd and 3rd respectively in Stage 2. Also Georgina Beech, 2nd and Justyna Lubkowski 3rd , Women’s A – Stage 2; Margeaux Thompson 2nd, Women’s B – Stage 2 and Gemma Abbery, Women’s C who placed 3rd in both Stage 2 and 3. There were another 10 of our riders who achieved top 10 finishes over the course of the event.

Well done to all of our riders who rode to their best and represented SKCC well over the weekend:

Senior Women – Emily Cust, Prudence Rothwell, Nick St Clair, Eliza Bergin, and Clair Homsey.
